This non-profit think tank features more than 200 fellows, comprised of professors, business professionals, and policy experts, who conduct extensive research, take part in important discussions, and contribute to the way public policy is formed by the government.
Peter Orszag was a senior fellow at Brookings Institution from 2001 through 2007, specializing in economic research. While at Brookings, Orszag completed 4 books published by Brookings Institution Press with multiple colleagues. He also cofounded and directed the Brookings-facilitated Hamilton Project and Retirement Security Project.
The Hamilton Project aims to form public policy that enhances economic growth, sustainable success, and advancement, while focusing on broad-based growth that enables everyone to succeed with hard work and education.
The Retirement Security Project, in conjunction with Georgetown University and funded by the Pew Charitable trusts, focuses on enhancing retirement security among lower- and middle-class Americans.
As a Deputy Director of Economic Studies, Orszag contributed nonpartisan, objective research and ideas to improve the nation’s economy. Another topic he discussed was homeland security following the September 11th terrorist attacks.
